This FBI file section contains a 20 January 1953 letter from the Johnson County, Indiana civil defense office asking J. Edgar Hoover whether the International Flying Saucer Bureau was subversive, with an enclosed issue of its bulletin Space Review. It also holds 1956 FBI memoranda and letters to Air Force investigators on a Van Nuys landing claim, a bright light seen from Oxford, Pennsylvania, and a low spinning object seen near Henderson, North Carolina. In each case the FBI took no action.

Dear Mr. Norver Last Sunday my wife and I attented a moving picture where they showed the Flying Sensor, it looked like a spot of light. It gave me the impression that there might be a plane up in the sky with a spot light or search light that is send down from the plane and when our plan as make an effort to go up there to find them they turn off the light and there for me feel that they have made a fast getaway up into the sky at a very fast speed this plane goes back to its air field or to another plane and feel the public. If our plane on its way up to find this plane could go up with all the lights turned off and stay far away and try to come over the top of this plane they would be able to catch it but they should be prepared to abort it out if needed. I think in order to prove this Idiq we should send one of our own plane up and have them send down a spot light or search light to find out if this is not true. if this is of any help it will make us happy.
