This FBI file section contains a 20 January 1953 letter from the Johnson County, Indiana civil defense office asking J. Edgar Hoover whether the International Flying Saucer Bureau was subversive, with an enclosed issue of its bulletin Space Review. It also holds 1956 FBI memoranda and letters to Air Force investigators on a Van Nuys landing claim, a bright light seen from Oxford, Pennsylvania, and a low spinning object seen near Henderson, North Carolina. In each case the FBI took no action.

FROM DATE: September 20, 1952 SUBJECT: STRANGE WHITE OBJECT SEEN OVER MONTANA ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1952 I talked with ASAC Plaxico of Butte on September 20, re the attached news releases indicating that the FBI was investigating a strange white object which reportedly streaked across the sky of Montana for about one hundred miles. Mr. Plaxico stated that while a report of this object had been received at the Butte Office, that no investigation was conducted regarding the matter and that none was contemplated. ## ACTION: For your information.
