This FBI file section contains a 20 January 1953 letter from the Johnson County, Indiana civil defense office asking J. Edgar Hoover whether the International Flying Saucer Bureau was subversive, with an enclosed issue of its bulletin Space Review. It also holds 1956 FBI memoranda and letters to Air Force investigators on a Van Nuys landing claim, a bright light seen from Oxford, Pennsylvania, and a low spinning object seen near Henderson, North Carolina. In each case the FBI took no action.

## --- The Hague The Netherlands Your letter dated October 6, 1952, has been received. You will perhaps recall being advised at the time of your visit to this Bureau that the matter discussed was not within the jurisdiction of the FDI. However, in view of your imminent departure from Washington the information was accepted for transmittal to the appropriate agency, which was to contact you if interested. Full details were made available at that time to the Department of the Air Force for evaluation and consider ation. In the absence of some arrangement between you and the Air Force, your further use of the pertinent facts is, of course, a matter for your own determination.
