This part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's UFO file collects FBI and Air Force correspondence from about 1950 to 1953. It includes an Air Force OSI district summary of aerial phenomena in New Mexico from December 1948 to May 1950, which reports that green fireballs occurred near sensitive installations and remained unexplained. It also holds a 1950 sighting of an orange sphere by a New Haven chemical engineer, a report from jet pilots near Fairbanks, a Los Alamos reporting form, and 1953 memos on sighting tips that the FBI passed on without investigating.

UNITED STAT GOVERNMENT TO Director, FBI DATE: 6-8-54 FROM SAC, Cincinnati (100-C) SUBJECT: FLYING DISCS INFORMATION CONCERNING On 6-7-54, Cincinnati 23, Ohio, and Mr. Cincinnati 12, Ohio, called at this office. Mr. advised he is the operator of a beauty salon in the Cincinnati, and Mr. advised he is President of the in Cincinnati. Mr. did all the talking for the two men and he furnished the following information: On 6-3-54 an ad appeared in the "Cincinnati Enquirer," a newspaper of general circulation, Cincinnati, Ohio, to the effect that on 6-11-54 a program would be presented at Taft Auditorium, Cincinnati, Ohio, on "The Real Flying Saucer Story." The advertisement which Mr. exhibited disclosed no sponsor for this program and it was only noted on the ad that tickets for the program sold for $2.00 per person and would be on sale at the Central Ticket Office in Cincinnati. Mr. advised that although he belongs to no organization interested in flying saucers, he has been interested in this subject and has been interested to the extent that he desired to know the sponsorship of the program. He stated that he found out from the Central Ticket Office that the ad had been placed by Ferndale 20, Michigan. He advised that he telephonically contacted on 6-3-54 and stated that he was only the agent for renting the hall and that he was acting on behalf of Ferndale and Ferndale. He stated that on 6-4-54 called him back and told him that there had been a disagreement between Ferndale and Ferndale over arrangements for the sale of tickets for the program and the renting of the hall. advised that at this time said nothing to discredit either or and indicated that their disagreement only concerned his placing the ad in the newspaper prior to having the tickets for the program available in Cincinnati.
