FBI file: UFO, UFO Part 11

Federal Bureau of Investigation · 127 pages · text by OCR

This part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's UFO file collects FBI and Air Force correspondence from about 1950 to 1953. It includes an Air Force OSI district summary of aerial phenomena in New Mexico from December 1948 to May 1950, which reports that green fireballs occurred near sensitive installations and remained unexplained. It also holds a 1950 sighting of an orange sphere by a New Haven chemical engineer, a report from jet pilots near Fairbanks, a Los Alamos reporting form, and 1953 memos on sighting tips that the FBI passed on without investigating.

No. ?

I can only believe that the account is a lot of nonsense, insofar as the F.B.I. telling the farmer that the government has captured several "flying saucers", and that they are from Mars, and that a Martian is being held captive in California. It would be apparent to me that if the government did have such knowledge, they would not confide such information to the farmer, — and moreover that it is too utterly fantastic to credit with recognition as true. The farmer no doubt saw a "flying saucer", a light reflection or other light phenomenon such as the gover ment has said all such things really are, and not a space ship from Mars or anyot place in outer space.

I am writing to hopefully secure your advice, insofar as you can properly advise me publicly as a citizen, of what the truth is in this story. I should like to not my relative there straight. And I am curious personally to know what the real story is about this farmer - Mr. of the Circleville, Ohio area.

Respectfully yours,
