This FBI file section collects Bureau correspondence on flying discs from 1947 to 1950. It includes a Portland field office memo on police officers who saw a silvery object over the city on September 11, 1947, and letters from citizens with sightings, theories and questions, along with Hoover's form replies. There is also a Chicago memo about a letter describing a secret saucer bomber, and a Louisville report on Al Hixenbaugh's June 1950 film of a disk. Other items include a Yuba City informant's drawings of a supposed Russian saucer and a note on Donald Keyhoe's book.

CITY, TN. 74-15-0 CODE FOR USE IN INDIVIDUAL PARAGRAPH EVALUATION OF SOURCE: COMPLETELY RELIABLE USUALLY RELIABLE FAMILY RELIABLE NOT USUALLY RELIABLE IMMEDIATE RELIABILITY UNKNOWN OF INFORMATION: CONFIRMED BY OTHER SOURCES PROBABLY TRUE POSSIBLE TRUE BOUNDUTALLY TRUE IMPROBABLE TRUTH CANNOT BE ADDED SUMMARY OF INFORMATION At about 1430 hours, 22 May 1950, the attached (Gee Imclosure 1) "photograph" was turned over to Agent John T. Guinn, CID, New Orleans Port of Harbor. The individual who turned this material over to Guinn told him that he had purchased the "photograph" from one of the hands of the Government. He stated that he thought this material "should be placed in the hands of the Government", as it was supposed to be pictures of "flying saucers" and "a man from Here in the United States". The "man from Here" was pictured as being in the custody of the military police. The individual turning this material over to Guinn gave his name as (B-2) According to the instructions, he is allowed to have served five (5) years in the Federal penitentiary at Davenport, Kansas. (B-2) No interrogation of the individual was conducted by Agent Guinn. (B-2) 1 Trial: Photo: (Original & Cy) CONDITION: A literal translation of the caption under the alleged photographs stated that a special infra-red machine was used to take these photographs because the "flying saucers" were invisible to the human eye. Also, the sound emitted by the two pictured "saucers" was of such high frequency as to be above frequent audible to the human ear. The caption continues by stating that an resident occurred to one of the "saucers" and the individual shown in custody of United States Military Police in the right hand photograph was a "Mr. X", a member of the area of one of these "flying saucers". The location of both photographs was stated to be Velsaden, Germany.
