This FBI file section collects Bureau correspondence on flying discs from 1947 to 1950. It includes a Portland field office memo on police officers who saw a silvery object over the city on September 11, 1947, and letters from citizens with sightings, theories and questions, along with Hoover's form replies. There is also a Chicago memo about a letter describing a secret saucer bomber, and a Louisville report on Al Hixenbaugh's June 1950 film of a disk. Other items include a Yuba City informant's drawings of a supposed Russian saucer and a note on Donald Keyhoe's book.

Dear sir. With all these fire fires in minn and art west our country was wondering whether the flying disc had anything to do with it. Has that just a myth or did they exist. If so could not they have been incindently falling to earth then with drought and heat from the sun ignite. Are not the discs seen flying over minn Vt. and western states on the western states that have front fire the same one reported to have seen the flying disc. I have great respect for your business or should I say our. In any way the U.S. D. has been efficient. Limited the Burner while in Bingham some years ago. I do hope I have taken up to much time but I cannot stop thinking of it. All Americans must be alert but not need to. I have given a lot of different setthings up here with plenty of money. Like the words 2 guess. Keep to themselves two.
