This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1947 to 1949 correspondence, memoranda and newspaper clippings about flying disc reports. It includes Hoover's replies to citizens, a Maine woman's account of a drifting object judged probably a weather balloon, a Richmond memo on a cigar-shaped object seen over Radford, Virginia on May 12, 1949, clippings on the Chiles and Whitted sighting near Montgomery, a Flyin' Saucer toy promotion, and agent interviews with witnesses in Vermont and a pilot near Bethel, Alaska.

## O ## O I got home about 10:30 A.M. and of the City Desk at the "Houston Post" called me and wanted to know about the disc. I told him I could not give him any information on it. He begged me for the story, but I told him I would let him know and that I had friends I had to contact before I could give him any information. I then got in touch with Mr. my lawyer, the following morning and asked him if he knew anyone in the FBI. He stated all the FBI personnel he knew were no longer stationed here. I then contacted the FBI and turned the material over to them. Although I can't describe where this object is located, I believe I could go back to it and I am sure Mr. and and Mr. could go back to it. Mr. business address is Avenue, South Pasadena, California. is president of the Company, Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. For record purposes, in taking the pictures above referred to, I did so using exposure of 16 frames per second at a diaphragm opening of f6.3. I used Cina-Kodak Kodachrome film.
