This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1947 records on flying disc reports, including field office memoranda from Butte, Seattle, Salt Lake City and San Francisco on sightings in Washington, Montana, Utah and Idaho. Several were attributed to burnt paper or weather balloons, and Wright Field judged debris from a Danford, Illinois farm a hoax unconnected to Project Mogul. After the Army Air Forces described FBI work as chasing "ash can covers, toilet seats and whatnot," the Bureau discontinued its flying disc investigations and referred reports to the Air Forces.

## O I could quite accurately determine their position. Even at the time this timing did not upset me as I felt confident after I landed there would be more explanation of what I in cooling reflections or even a tinge. When I saw it in my airplane as I observed these objects not only through the glass of my airplane but turned my airplane of always where I could open my window to observe them with a completely unobstructed view. Even though two minutes come like a very short time round, in the air in the minute of a pilot observes many things and anything within his sight of vision probably any fifty or sixty times. I continued a search for the marine plankton for an hour using minibos and while searching for this marine plankton, and I had just observed it going through my mind. I booned more disturbed, and I was able to look at the ocean observes I needed for validation. I might add that my complete observation of these objects, which are two and a half or three inches — although, by the time they reached the surface, were one of my range of vision as far as deter or form. Of course, when the sun reflected five one or two or three of these units, they appeared to be completely round; but, I am adding a drawing to the book of my ability, which I am including, as to the size I observed in one of the objects that covered all the well-defined interior.
