This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1947 records on flying disc reports, including field office memoranda from Butte, Seattle, Salt Lake City and San Francisco on sightings in Washington, Montana, Utah and Idaho. Several were attributed to burnt paper or weather balloons, and Wright Field judged debris from a Danford, Illinois farm a hoax unconnected to Project Mogul. After the Army Air Forces described FBI work as chasing "ash can covers, toilet seats and whatnot," the Bureau discontinued its flying disc investigations and referred reports to the Air Forces.

I was born March 29, 1915 in Scobey, Illinois. My mother's residence was I was a resident of Minnesota until I was six years old when family moved to Scobey, Montana, where they homesteaded. My grandfather also homesteaded in Scobey, Montana, and became quite prominent in political circles. entered scouting at twelve years of age and achieved the rank of single scout before I was fourteen. My former scout executive was now a regional commissioner for the Boy Scouts in Iowa, Ding, Wisconsin. In a boy, I was interested in athletics and my collection on all-time and in 1932 and 1933 in the state of North Dakota. I covered the U.S. Olympic trials in fancy diving in 1932; I was a God Green lifelong survivor during the years of 1932, '33 and '34. I taught and raced and dived at scout camps and the municipal pool in Ninot, North Dakota. I went to the University of Minnesota, where I swim and did fancy diving under, and also played football under, but upon entering college I was unable to continue my football career because of an injured knee. My high school football coach was who in my high school football team of the North Dakota high school, and my education in college was through my athletics. As a boy in Ninot, North Dakota, I did a good deal of dog sled racing, placing first with my dog in 1930 in the Lion's Club Dog Derby.
