This FBI file section collects July 1947 Bureau memoranda, teletypes, citizen letters and newspaper clippings about reported flying discs. They cover recovered objects at Twin Falls, Idaho, Shreveport, Louisiana, Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and Laurel, Maryland, many judged to be pranks, plus a Grafton, Wisconsin priest's circular saw blade the Milwaukee office called a hoax. A Dallas teletype reports a disc recovered near Roswell resembling a high altitude weather balloon with radar reflector. Kenneth Arnold's own account of his sighting is also included.

have also seen a flying saucer the evening of July 4- about 10:39 PM- only it was in the air at the same level as two obvious portions of light in the search light beams from the air field near Lake St. Clair. I was sitting on my porch at the time. A few trucks could with proper equipment create the same illusion. There were two clearly retired beams - one partly faded out to that end. The saucer appeared when the third beam faded out from the ground to the saucer.
