This FBI file section collects July 1947 Bureau memoranda, teletypes, citizen letters and newspaper clippings about reported flying discs. They cover recovered objects at Twin Falls, Idaho, Shreveport, Louisiana, Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and Laurel, Maryland, many judged to be pranks, plus a Grafton, Wisconsin priest's circular saw blade the Milwaukee office called a hoax. A Dallas teletype reports a disc recovered near Roswell resembling a high altitude weather balloon with radar reflector. Kenneth Arnold's own account of his sighting is also included.

7/6/47 Federal Bureau of Investigation Washington , D.C. For your information it may be it should ever value it may be it should like to repeat seeing one of these "Flying Since" on July 4. It appeared to have started from the dance hall here at Albury Park momentarily I thought it was a bellion but it went in a definite direction at an apparently constant speed + gradually ascending following a path similar to the trajectory of a bullet but more pronounced. It disposed in the distance going north along the shoreline. Alum will be there recently at the dance hall. I hope this may be of some help to you. Some very truly Jersey C.177.N.S. ---
