This FBI file, released by The Black Vault, collects July 1947 Bureau memoranda, teletypes and newspaper clippings about flying disc reports. The memos record a disc found in a Twin Falls, Idaho back yard, a hexagonal object recovered near Roswell that Eighth Air Force said looked like a weather balloon with a radar reflector, and hoax discs at Laurel, Maryland, Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and Shreveport, Louisiana. It also contains Father Brasky's circular saw disc from Grafton, Wisconsin, and Kenneth Arnold's statement about his sighting.

Attached are newspaper clippines from the
Sentinel and Hilwaukee Journal of July 7, 1947.
For the Bureau's information, United Press and Associated
Press telephoned me at my residence about three or four times between
1:00 A.JJ. and 2:30 A.!.!., JU1~' 1947. The United Press representative
infonned JOO tha.t Father JOSEPl nASh"! ha.d stated on interview by n
!.!ilwnukee Sentinol reporter, 0 DIU. mlEKS, (Phonetic) that he,
Father BRASKY, was eoinG to call the FBI concerninG the contraption,
rmich apparently was identical 'lith one of the flyinG discs recent~
publicized throuchout the country. The United Press representative
desired to ImClll' if we ha.d any statement to make on the matter. I
infonned him that I had no official comment, other than "No Comment."
Since I have contacted the United Press representative on
'various occasions, I asked him what the actual details were, and he
stated he did not kncr;/ except that the int.erv:.ew of the prj,est reflected
that a circular saw had been found with some devices attached to it.
The Associated Press culsd me shortly after the United
Press representative did, and on beine" advised that I had no cOl!1!ll'lnt
to ~Ake concerninc the story, I asked the Associated Press representa-
tive what the actual facts were, and he infonned JOO that as far as the
, Associated Press was concerned, the facts were that a circular saw had
been found and a story had been obtained from a priest "mo had been

me that apparently the United Press desired to eet a statenent from J:lC
