This FBI teletype from the Dallas office went to the Director and the Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge and was recorded in July 1947. Eighth Air Force had told the Dallas office by telephone that an object said to be a flying disc was recovered near Roswell, New Mexico. The teletype says the object was hexagonal, hung by cable from a balloon about twenty feet across, and looked like a high altitude weather balloon with a radar reflector. It was being flown to Wright Field for examination.
