This MuckRock release pairs a 29 March 2017 CIA FOIA response letter to Michael Best with a 10 April 1970 CIA memorandum to the FBI Director about Fred Lee Crisman, an author from Tacoma, Washington. The FBI had found the memo and referred it to the CIA, which released it in full. In the memo, CIA Director of Security Howard J. Osborn says a check of Agency records turned up no connection between Crisman and the CIA or its predecessors. He adds that the only reference to Crisman was in Joachim Joesten's 1968 "Truth Letter."
