This FBI file on Daniel Fry, released under FOI/PA with 33 pages withheld, collects 1963 memoranda between the New York and Los Angeles field offices. New York found a 1962 letter and agreement signed by Daniel W. Fry about articles for "Understanding" magazine. Los Angeles reported that Fry was president of the Understanding movement and was trying to set up a utopian community at Merlin, Oregon, and it enclosed his book "The White Sands Incident". None of the index references to him were derogatory.

NY 65-18777 various people connected with NYSIB, one of whom was a DANIEL FRY, address unknown. Possibility exists that this DANIEL FRY is identical with the DANIEL W. FRY who will subsequently be mentioned in this letter.
