Courier- Post, Han~i~ , Missouri, on 12/20/57 advised
the Res1dent Agent at Hannibal that he was in receipt
of an undated letter signed R. T. STONE . This letter
bears the letterhead Inter- Continental Aerial Research
Foundation a~n the upper right corner there is typed
the following ISSOURI FILTER CENTER, Robert T. Stone,
Director, 10 27th Terr . , Independence, Missouri" .
Below this ~n pencil is a notation made by Mr . WATSON
which is "Air Defense Identification Zoning . "
The letter is as follows :

"The enclosed notice is self- explanatory. we would
-like to request this public service in the name of Truth, 1
which the newspapers of our great countries so proudly
defend and uphold .
"As a civilian body of investigators, we hope to
unravel the snarled mess that shrouds the u . F . o. ques
tion, and with the help of the newspapers and the public ,
where can we fail?
"We will be grateful if you will publish the enclosed
appeal on the front page of your newspaper, in a conspicuous
enough manner that no one will fail to notice it . It is
the public we must depend upon to get thoroughly organized ,
and with this co- operation we are certain that we can find /
the answer to the riddle of the "Flying Saucers."
