This section of FBI file 62-HQ-83894 collects Bureau correspondence on flying disks from 1949 and 1950. Most of it concerns a letter to Walter Winchell, passed on by Ernest Cuneo, from Peter Camerlon Jones, who said he saw a top-shaped silver object in the mountains near Los Angeles in August 1947. Los Angeles agents could not find Jones, and Hoover suggested the letter might be a prank. The file also holds a Navy intelligence report on 6 or 7 discs seen over southern Oregon on 27 May 1949, plus letters from members of the public about Chicago and Toronto.

## 6. P. S. I think I can get some information on the Russian submarine and what matters them go so deep downs. Ubalsky says he is sure our navy must locate them as they got dummies they put out some how in the water and can look one with the dummies he said they were making a long range rocket and pulling this engine it but that the sancer goes as fast as the rocket will. I was going to patent this engine even if I did get it from Ubalsty - I placed my self in great danger to get it - and damn in danger yet if anyone gives me away. But give it to the U.S.A. Quick and the U.S.A. can give me something for my efforts, I do not think the U.S.A. will turn me down - do you? and maybe I will ask a favor of the 7. B. T. - who knows.
