FBI file 62-HQ-83894, section 5

Department of War · 209 pages · text by OCR

This section of FBI file 62-HQ-83894 collects Bureau correspondence on flying disks from 1949 and 1950. Most of it concerns a letter to Walter Winchell, passed on by Ernest Cuneo, from Peter Camerlon Jones, who said he saw a top-shaped silver object in the mountains near Los Angeles in August 1947. Los Angeles agents could not find Jones, and Hoover suggested the letter might be a prank. The file also holds a Navy intelligence report on 6 or 7 discs seen over southern Oregon on 27 May 1949, plus letters from members of the public about Chicago and Toronto.

attached I really do not know our engineers can do that out so I am sending a set of drawings free hand and these are in detail just exactly little Russian drawings — so these look a Lot Better than those I mailed out Sat. and Ubalsky said after I studied them for quite a spell — that he was brushing me — and should I open my mouth or tell any one of the mechanics I saw in them sources I would be taken care of an darn fast so that that, when you get these drawings go to the military officials and don't get me in Dutch I know you will not for my life is the price I would pay — sooner or later if the commie agent figured I had give this away and do not have any F.B.T. men tagging me that would look suspicious to the commie agents. I am talking a hell of a chance and I want some more information get from them and I will pass it along to you as fast as I get
