This section of FBI file 62-HQ-83894 collects Bureau correspondence on flying disks from 1949 and 1950. Most of it concerns a letter to Walter Winchell, passed on by Ernest Cuneo, from Peter Camerlon Jones, who said he saw a top-shaped silver object in the mountains near Los Angeles in August 1947. Los Angeles agents could not find Jones, and Hoover suggested the letter might be a prank. The file also holds a Navy intelligence report on 6 or 7 discs seen over southern Oregon on 27 May 1949, plus letters from members of the public about Chicago and Toronto.

Ward 336 Bird Street Tuba City, California INDEXED - 74 RECORDED - 74 62-83894-226 Dear Mr. Ward: Your letters of April 8, 1950, have been received and I want to thank you for writing to me as you did. It is suggested, however, that you may wish to communicate directly with the Secretary of the Army, National Defense Building, Washington, D. C., with reference to the matter you mentioned. Sincerely yours, John Edgar Hoover Director MAILED APR 16 1950 COMM - F81 NOTE: Correspondent advises he has been in contact with the Buffalo Office and states that he has deemed the information he has furnished with reference to flying saucers important enough to write direct to the Bureau. He advises that he desires us to use a plain envelope in connection with our reply and further stipulates that he does not desire that his name be furnished to "Army Chiefs." He has stated that he "wants to get a lot more information to give to you." NJC:mcq:bjc কোন বাংলাদেশ বাংলা বাংলাদেশ বাংলা
