This is section 1 of FBI headquarters file 62-HQ-83894 on flying discs, compiled in July and August 1947. It collects press clippings, including a report of a disc found by a priest in Grafton, Wisconsin, that a Milwaukee memo treats as a prank involving a circular saw. It also holds a Milwaukee report on a disc found near Black River Falls, a Portland teletype about a pilot's sighting over Myrtle Creek, Oregon, citizen letters, and Hoover's correspondence forwarding material to the War Department.

Seens to us with all the enerri.es we have, even with:..n our borders,
it could be something far more i?:ioortant than may seem at first . I had 2 sons
in this war f.: anotl-ier who over- did for his .~crica - & we do want it really
protected from danger fro::: now on . Enough are dead ~ maimed - '.rith- out l osing out
now as it easily could be . ~-lhy have the papers carried that story if reporters
were nade to see how much more sensible not to report - it excert to the F. B.I .
