This FBI file section, serial 448 onward of 62-HQ-83894, gathers UFO correspondence from 1966 to 1977. It includes J. Edgar Hoover's reply to Florence C. Dow of Goffstown, New Hampshire, who had asked whether the Amalgamated Flying Saucer Clubs of America was backed by communists. Her enclosed July 1966 issue of the AFSCA journal is also in the file. Later items are a 1977 Air Force UFO fact sheet on the end of Project Blue Book and a White House inquiry, to which the FBI replied that it has no jurisdiction over UFO sightings.

Be believes that be was taken int o this craft which be recalla as being made of a elua like aubstance and being transparent . It was manned by aeveral iodivlduala who appeared to be underaized creatures similar to Jlellbers of the human race, probabl,- not more than 4 'feet tall . They were allegedly wearing regular trouser pants and T-Sbtrts. Collins believes that be was transported by tb1a craft for an undetermined distance and returned to his point of take-oft approximately one hour later . Collins spoke in a coherent manner although he appeared to be under certain emotional atrain. He claimed he had not been drinkiD& an7 intoxicant• but he was unable to account for tbe time between 6 : 00 p . m. and 4 : 00 a . m.. He stated he was telephoning from hia worksbbp but had no recollection of being elsewhere t>etween 8:00 p . m. and 4: 00 a . m. The above is being furnished for your information. A check of Bureau indices did not disclose any information which could be identified with Collins.
