This section of FBI file 62-HQ-83894 on flying discs collects 1947 FBI memoranda, teletypes and Army Air Forces intelligence papers. It includes F. M. Johnson's report of discs near Mt. Adams on June 24, 1947, the Maury Island claims of Harold Dahl and Fred Crisman, the fatal B-25 crash at Kelso, Washington that killed investigators Davidson and Brown, MIT findings that New Hampshire fragments were ordinary cast iron, and A. C. Urie's Twin Falls sighting. It ends with the Bureau discontinuing its disc investigations.

PUBLISHED ARTICLE TO EFFECT THAT L. ~UMMETT, BOX TWO FIVE FOUR RED
MOND, WASH, AND SIDNEY DECKER BOX TWO NINE SI X REDMOND, WASHINGTON HAD
SIGHTED TWO DI SCS AT APPROXIMATELY NINE AM AUGUST THIRTEEN NINETEEN
FORTYSEVEN . UPON INTERVIEW DECKER STATED THAT TWO VERY BRIGHT OJECTS

TRAVELING AT AN EXTREME RATE OF SPEED WERE NOTICED BY HIM AS H~WAS
STANDING NEAR THE REDMOND POST OFFICE . DECKER DESCRIBED THE OBJECTS
AS HAVING NO WINGS, NO TAIL, AND BOTH ENDS WERE TAPERED . DECKER ADDED
THAT THE OBJECTS RESEMBLED A BELLY TANK AND THAT THEY WERE NOISELESS .
THE OBJECTS WERE VERY BRIGHT AND TRAVELING IN A NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION
OVER REDMOND, WASHINGTON, ONE A BIT BEHIND AND A LITTLE ABOVE THE ◊,HER
MAINTAINING EQUAL RA TES OF SPEED FOR APPROXIMATELY EIGHT SECONDS A1'rv-/
WHICH TIME THEY DI SAPPEARED FROM VIEW. DECKER ADDED THAT THEY WERE
HIGHER THAN A PLANE GENERALLY TRAVELS. BRUMMETT ADVISED THAT HE NOTICED
THE OBJECTS AND CALLED DECKERS ATTENTION TO THEM AND ALSO POINTED THEM
OUT TO A MRS MAMIE ENGLISH . BRUMMETT STATED THAT HE SAW THO OBJECTS
FLYING AT A FORTYFIVE DEGREE ANGLE NORTHEASTERLY OVER REDMOND t~ /Ir}
