This is the Department of Defense's final response to John Greenewald Jr.'s FOIA request 22-F-0035, dated August 5, 2025. It releases 106 pages from the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review, with some material withheld under exemptions (b)(4), (b)(5) and (b)(6). The pages cover the 2020 to 2021 security review of James Lacatski's manuscript "Skinwalkers at the Pentagon: Correcting the Record," about DIA's AAWSAP program. The records include DIA, Air Force and DHS reviews, and the manuscript was cleared as amended in May 2021.

We do not allow them to ignore reviews. They are on partial manning so access to on-site computer systems is sporadic. We are in the same posture but are doing all that we can to maximize our time in the office and complete reviews. We are keeping up on the components to ensure that they can continue to respond. If we cannot get a response from our points of contact, we will elevate the concern. I appreciate all of your patience with our process. We never intend for reviews to take this long and are doing all we can to keep operations moving. 7
