This Defense Intelligence Agency release gathers Army and Air Force intelligence reports on unidentified flying objects from several countries. It contains translated Finnish Border Guard reports of glowing spheres and lights seen near the Soviet border, a Costa Rica sighting near Puntarenas, and Afghan news items from 1959 on bright objects over Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul. Other reports describe objects over Kuldja in Sinkiang, China. A 1969 OSI report from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand concludes that a pilot's ground sighting was probably a religious procession carrying ceremonial drums.

HOURS. OBJECTED SIGHTED BY CIVILIAN METEOROLOGIST JORGE STANICH AND OBSERVED DURING FIVE SECOND PERIOD. OBJECT STATIONARY, COLORED A CLEAR BRILLIANT YELLOW, APPARENT DIAMETER ONE POINT FIVE CENTIMETERS AND SURROUNDED BY AN IRIDISCENT HALO, APPEARING UNDER A THICK CLOUDY CONDITION 300 METER CEILING AT TWO THREE ZERO DEGREES FROM TRUE NORTH AT TWO FIVE DEGREES ABOVE THE HORIZON. SAME OBSERVOR SIGHTED ON EIGHT JUNE AT ZERO TWO TWO ZERO HOURS DURING A FOUR SECOND PERIOD SIMILAR OBJECTS WITH AN APPARENT DIAMETER OF ONE CENTIMETER WIDE APPEARING UNDER THICK CLOUDY CEILING OF 300 METERS AT POINT THREETHREE ZERO DEGREES FROM TRUE NORTH AT FOUR ZERO DEGREES ABOVE THE HORIZON. BOTH OBSERVATIONS MADE FROM METEOROLOGICAL CAMP THIS BASE. ON TWO ZERO JUNE THE CHILEAN BASE COMMANDER (AGUIRRE CERDA BASE) REPORTED THAT AT ONE SIX TWO ZERO HOURS A LUMINOUS OBJECT LARGER THAN A FIRST MAGNITUDE STAR WAS OBSERVED BY HIMSELF, JUAN BARRERA; LIEUTENANT BENAVIDEZ (BOTH AF PILOTS), METEOROLOGIST CONCHA AND SEVEN OTHER PERSONS. OBJECT MANEUVERED RAPIDLY FOR TWO FIVE MINUTES OVER DECEPTION ISLAND AREA. AMPLIFYING INFORMATION TO FOLLOW.

DESCRIPTION: WHITE LUMINOUS COLOR, NOT BRILLIANT, ROUND FORM, CLEAN OUTLINE, PARABOLIC TRAJECTORY WEST TO EAST, THREE ZERO DEGREES ABOVE THE HORIZON TOWARDS THE SOUTH, MOVED WITH INCREASING SPEED. VISUAL CONTACT LOST DUE TO CLOUDS.

SIGHTING LASTED FOR FIFTEEN DASH TWENTY MINUTES AT ONE NINE FOUR FIVE HOURS ON A CLEAR NIGHT WITH ONE EIGHTH STRATOCUMULUS CONDITION AND STARRY SKY, MOON IN FOURTH QUARTER. OBJECT WAS MOVING RAPIDLY AND OF A BRILLIANT COLOR, SOLID APPEARANCE AND NOISELESS, PREDOMINATE COLOR RED AND GREEN BUT AT TIMES ELLOW BORDERED,
