This Defense Intelligence Agency release gathers Army and Air Force intelligence reports on unidentified flying objects from several countries. It contains translated Finnish Border Guard reports of glowing spheres and lights seen near the Soviet border, a Costa Rica sighting near Puntarenas, and Afghan news items from 1959 on bright objects over Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul. Other reports describe objects over Kuldja in Sinkiang, China. A 1969 OSI report from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand concludes that a pilot's ground sighting was probably a religious procession carrying ceremonial drums.

One day during the summer of 1958 a Russian peasant in ARSAIAN Settlement (45°55'7", 83°32'2") had been told by some friends that a strange light had passed over the settlement during the night. The light had been star-shaped and yellowish. Two or three days later the same peasant had been told by some friends that a Kamth had found an object in the hills, which they believed had exited the light seen over ARSAIAN and had handed it in at the local government office (known to the Kamths as Iaa; at ARSAIAN. His curiosity aroused, the peasant had devised a pretent to visit the government office and had there seen the object. It had consisted of an open box, made of a metal that looked like tin plate, about forty centimetres long, twenty centimetres wide and twenty centimetres deep. A shaft about fifteen centimetres long had protruded from one end of the box and at the end of the shaft there had been a four-bladed propeller. Each blade of the propeller had been five or six centimetres long. Hanging from one side of the box there had been a wire about five millimetres thick and a metre long. The peasant had gained a confused impression of tires, batteries, and pieces of thick cardboard inside the box, but was unable to remember the layout.
