This Defense Intelligence Agency release gathers Army and Air Force intelligence reports on unidentified flying objects from several countries. It contains translated Finnish Border Guard reports of glowing spheres and lights seen near the Soviet border, a Costa Rica sighting near Puntarenas, and Afghan news items from 1959 on bright objects over Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul. Other reports describe objects over Kuldja in Sinkiang, China. A 1969 OSI report from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand concludes that a pilot's ground sighting was probably a religious procession carrying ceremonial drums.

2. /Information obtained from personnel stationed at border post at village alI REZABAD. Border post is located 60km NE of the confluence of the QARA BU and ARAB Rivers. Personnel were debriefed on the afternoon of 18 July 1960. Time of sighting: About 2000 hours, 17 July 1960 Asimuth to object: About 90° Angle of Elevation: 90° Color of light! Blue-green General remarks: Two lights were seen initially and then they became three. The lights were seen for over one minute. Flight was horizontal. Object did not appear to land, but disappeared behind the base on the horizon. No similar sighting had ever been made before. 3. Information obtained from personnel stationed at Gendarmerie Port at village of ARJACH, 160 km south and east of confluence of the GARA SU and ARAS "livers. Personnel were debriefed on 19 July 1960. Time ofighting: 2000 hours, 17 July 1960 Azimuth to object: 150° Angle of elevation: 70° Direction of movement: 82 to 84 Color of light: Blue-green General remarks: Two lights were seen initially in the EK sky. The lights appeared to explode into three lights. The flight was horizontal. Lights were seen for 4-5 minutes. Each light appeared to be 2-3 feet in diameter. (This is five times larger than the lights appeared to MOST personnel and twice as large as they appeared to border personnel.) No similar sighting has ever been seen at this point.
