This Defense Intelligence Agency compilation brings together several Department of Defense intelligence information reports on UFO sightings from 1968 to 1976. It includes 1968 reports of UFOs over South China and the Taiwan Strait, a 1970 South Korean report on possible North Korean balloons, and a table of Spanish sightings from 1973 to 1974 taken from the local press. It also contains a Pakistani report of a light seen before an earthquake and the USDAO Tehran account of F-4 jets losing instruments while chasing a UFO in September 1976.

## JOINT STATE DIA MESSAGE

DIA FOR DIACO-2 AND DIAST, 1127TH FOR AFNIAAB, FTD FOR TDAMO, CONAD FOR J2, DEPT OF STATE FOR INR AND GPM. SUBJECT: (U) MOON DUST. DATT CALLED BY MINISTER INTERIOR TO INSPECT OBJECT FOUND NEAR LAI (0924N-1618E) ON 1 AUGUST 1970. MINISTER SAID OBJECT FELL IN AREA WITH THREE LOUD EXPLOSIONS AND THEN BURNED FOR FIVE DAYS. DATT INSPECTED OBJECT WHICH IS A METAL SPHERE ABOUT 18 INCHES IN DIAMETER WEIGHING 20-25 POUNDS. THE TWO HALVES OF THE SPHERE ARE WELDED TOGETHER. AT EACH POLE OF SPHERE ARE PORTS WHICH HAVE BEEN MELTED CLOSED. THE SPHERE SHOWS EVIDENCE OF BURNING AND SEVERAL LIGHTER STREAKS RUN THROUGH BURNED AREAS. THE OBJECT RESEM BLES A PRESSURIZED FUEL TANK. DATT WILL BE IN POSSESSION OF THE OBJECT AND CAN FORWARD IF DESIRED PLEASE ADVISE.
