COMMENT: From a separate source it has been learned that the phenomenon was also seen from Chitral, Pakistan. ARMA has discussed these reports with DATT/ARMA Afghanistan who says that he has not heard of any such reports in Kabul. However, he has jokingly suggested that the phenomenon may simply have been sightings of Santa Claus preparing for Christmas. Despite DAO Kabuls skepticism, we would appreciate an evaluation from DIA.
