This Defense Intelligence Agency contracting notice for the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (solicitation HHM402-08-R-0211) was posted in August 2008. It is a combined synopsis and solicitation for a total small business set aside. The statement of objectives asks for studies of breakthrough aerospace technologies that could shape the foreign threat through 2050, covering lift, propulsion, materials, signature reduction and human effects. Contractor staff need TS/SCI clearance, and the base year plus four option years runs to 2013.

It shall be changed from: "THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A TOP SECRET FACILITY CLEARANCE GRANTED BY THE DEFENSE SECURITY SERVICE (DSS) PRIOR CONTRACT IMPLEMENTATION." to "THE CONTRACTOR WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A TOP SECRET FACILITY CLEARANCE GRANTED BY THE DEFENSE SECURITY SERVICE (DSS) PRIOR TO CONTRACT IMPLEMENTATION.
