Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Contract Status Brief (4)

According to the briefing, a July 2008 supplemental appropriation provided $10 million to study foreign advanced aerospace weapon threats up to 40 years out, and Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies won the contract. It rates BAASS performance as excellent, with 26 research reports received by June 2009, and lists report titles, reviewer comments, option year 1 deliverables and a $12 million FY10 budget. It recommends moving the contract out of DIA if it continues past FY10.
