Internet Archive · 300 pages · text by OCR

This Internet Archive item compiles 1965 to 1968 records from National Research Council of Canada files (RG 77, Vol. 306) on non-meteoritic sightings. It contains fireball and UFO telex reports from RCAF stations, RCC Vancouver and the RCMP, covering lights seen over Sydney, Vancouver, Cochrane, Toronto, Whitehorse and Shediac. It also includes an RCMP investigation of a 12 July 1968 impact at Tobin Road, Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, which concluded the object was probably a meteorite, not a UFO.

## UNCLAS PR 65

FOR CFOC. POSSIBLE UFO REPORT. THE FOLLOWING REPORT RECEIVED IN THIS OFFICE CONCERNS AN IMPRESSION ON THE GROUND IN THE RED DEER AREA WHICH LOCAL PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT. LOCATED ON PROPERTY OWNED BY CONRAD HANSEN LOUSANA, ALTA. THERE IS AN OVAL SHAPED IMPRESSION BURNED INTO ONE OF HIS PASTURES. IT IS 28 TO 20 FEET IN LENGTH AND 8 TO 10 FEET ACROSS. THERE ARE FOUR ROUND HOLES 6 IN ACROSS 3 IN IN DEPTH WITH A SMALLER HOLE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE LARGER ONES. GRASS IS COMPLETELY BURNED AWAY AND A LARGE ROCK IN CENTER OF AREA BURNED AND BLACKENED. THIS OFFICE CONTACTED MAJOR KELLY, BASE COMMANDER AT CANFORBAGE PENHOLD AND INFORMED HIM AND SUGGESTED THAT POSSIBLY OCCURSE OR RCMP DET RED DEER LOOK AT THIS IMPRESSION AND RECORD IT ON FILM, IF POSSIBLE, BEFORE INCLEMENT WEATHER DESTROYS IMPRESSION. POSSIBLY NCR WOULD BE INTERESTED.
