This CIA FOIA release, dated 2001-04-09, collects 1978 internal records from the case Ground Saucer Watch, Inc. v. CIA (Civil Action 78-859). It includes an Office of General Counsel memo, a stipulation from plaintiff's attorney Peter Gersten that restates the group's requests for all CIA documents relating to UFOs, a list of the original requesters, and routing slips. Office of Data Processing components searched their files and reported that they found no material related to UFOs.

MEMORANDUM FOR: Executive Officer STATINTL FROM : Deputy Director for Processing SUBJECT : File Search for Documents Pertaining to UFO's or UFO Phenomenon 1. This is to advise you that the files in Processing have been searched for documents pertaining to UFO's and the UFO Phenomenon and that no documents of any kind on that subject were found. 2. It should be mentioned, though, that the Headquarters Data Conversion Branch, Production Division, did report that documents pertaining to UFO's are handcarried to that facility by an ODP customer for input keying to the customer's data base. The documents are retrieved by the customer after processing by DCB/PD and none are retained by that organization. STATINTL MFTR Re paragraph 2 above I called the alleged customer, on 18 Sept 78. She said that the project in question was not related in any way to UFO's but was a classified research project.
