This Central Intelligence Agency file, approved for release in 2001, collects 1956 correspondence about who handles reports of unidentified flying objects. It includes a proposal for dividing up raw UFO reports and destroying some of them. Deputy Director Robert Amory Jr. asked about a Paris Match article, and the Assistant Director for Scientific Intelligence replied that the Office keeps close liaison with the Air Force Technical Intelligence Center. The file also holds a clipping about the closure of the Shirley Bay saucer station.
