This sanitized Central Intelligence Agency information report, approved for release on 2 April 2001, sets out UFO sightings reported in February and March 1968 over Ladakh, Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan. For each sighting it gives the date, local time, area, direction of flight and a description of the object. The objects included bright lights, rocket-like trails and objects heard with thunder sounds. A metallic disc-shaped object was reportedly found in a crater near Pokhara, Nepal. Direction was reported as being from Southeast to North-west over Thungaria, Lachung, Lachen & Kuguthang. Over Chhamo and Sese La, the direction was reportedly from North-east to South-west. The latter direction coincides with the one over Nepal and is likely to be more correct since the date and timing of the flight of object also coincide. Light object giving light from tail. It might enough to be brighten the entire area. Thunder sound was heard from Chholhamu after sighting the object.
