This CIA release, approved in 2001, contains Flying Saucers UFO Reports No. 1, a magazine that Dell Publishing issued in 1967. It argues that UFOs deserve serious study. It gathers reported landings, radar trackings, sightings by astronomers and pilots, and cases involving creatures, drawing on Ruppelt, Keyhoe, Fuller, NICAP and APRO. It also describes Project Blue Book, NICAP, APRO and the new University of Colorado study under Dr. Edward Condon.

Keffel was moving at high speed, too. All five of these photos were shot within 60 frantic seconds. This, the third, shows much more clearly defined bottom of disc as it moved in on deep tilt toward the two men on the ground. The fourth shot caught the disc at its nearest observation point when it tilted topside toward Keffel, enabling him to get clear shot of top with clearly visible "cupola." Then, at what was estimated to be 1200 feet away and a height of 1800 feet, it accelerated rapidly and disappeared.
