This is a copy of "The UFO Evidence," a report published in May 1964 by the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) in Washington, D.C. and edited by Richard H. Hall. The CIA released its copy in 2001. The report draws 746 sightings from more than 5,000 signed reports and argues that unexplained UFOs are real, artificial objects under intelligent control. It criticizes Air Force secrecy and calls for a Congressional inquiry into Project Blue Book and a larger scientific investigation.

[Section II.] 8-47 Media, Pa. Hovered, flipped over showing it was disc; second later shot from mid-sky over the horizon in 3 to 4 seconds. [Section V.] 12-8-47 Las Vegas, Nevada Pilots at night saw reddish light moving at moderate speed; flashed bright green and "shot up at tremendous speed." 7-4-48 Nr Longmont, Colo. Round, silvery object, revolving; hovered for several seconds, soared upward at terrific speed. 3-10-50 Orangeburg, S.C. Publisher and others saw bright disc hover over city for 15 minutes, speed away leaving trail. 3-8-50 Dayton, Ohio Round UFO hovered at high altitude; pursued by interceptors, streaked vertically upward. Round aluminum-like UFO moving horizontally for two minutes, shot straight up. 5-29-50 Nr Washington, D.C. After circling airliner and hovering, elliptical UFO sped east at "fantastic speed." Rotating saucer-shaped UFO hovered; took off with terrific acceleration as minister (former USAF pilot) started to drive his car under it. 1-20-51 Nr Sioux City, Iowa Rocket-like object flew alongside DC-3, suddenly shot up out of sight [Section V.] 2-19-51 Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa Cigar-shaped UFO with vertical bands, hovering, sighted by airline pilot and crew; after 15 to 20 minutes suddenly shot straight up. [Section X.] 8-51 Nr Murray, Ky. Silver, roughly triangle-shaped object hovered, then shot straight up. 10-9-51 Nr Paris, Ill. Disc-like UFO hovering, as pilot turned toward it, UFO began to pick up speed, shot off toward NE. [Section V.] Early 1952 Cleveland, Ohio Red light hovered; took off at high speed when chased by plane. [Section V.] 1-21-52 Mitchel AFB, N.Y. Disc circling and climbing slowly; pilot gave chase, UFO accelerated rapidly and pulled away out to sea. [Section IV.] 1-29-52 Wonsan, Korea Revolving disc paralleled B-29 for five minutes, pulled ahead, shot away at sharp angle. [Section X.] 2-20-52 Greenfield, Mass.
