This Central Intelligence Agency information report, distributed 5 March 1957 and approved for release in sanitized form on 1 July 2010, collects twelve attachments on the Soviet port of Kherson in the Ukrainian SSR. The attachments hold sketches, photographs and observations of cranes, wharf repairs, shipyards building tankers, fuel tanks, a radar station on Nikolayev Island and a nearby airfield. They also report Kherson-built fishing boats with HIGH SIEVE type radar seen at Djibouti on their way to Vladivostok. The report has nothing to do with UFOs.

# INFORMATION BULLETIN ( PLACE: Port of Kherson, Russia INFORMATION 25X1 I- ORGANIZATION of the PORT: ( See attached diagram. ) a) Wharfs-Piers-Quays A- Wharf for loading and unloading of merchandise whose reconstruction has been extended up to the first storehouse, ( point a ). No work was observed 25X1 B- Site near the club's swimming pool where the construction of a pier was observed. - Another area where the construction of a pier was observed. ## b) CRANES Two other cranes were placed in area A. There are nine cranes in all in that area now. Out of the nine cranes, three of them are new. each of them 25X1 has a hoisting power of about 15 tons. II- Within the area where the cranes are at location A, about 100 trucks having double back wheels were observed ready for loading. (b- y)Little whose entrance has an opening of about 400 meters and whose length is 700 meters. ## III- FLOATS Two floating cranes. One of them operates by means of steam and the other by means of electricity coming from the city. Floating tank observed at point ## IV- SHIPYARDS and SHOPS - Site where 3 new and permanent tanks were observed. One of them is under construction
