This Central Intelligence Agency information report, distributed 5 March 1957 and approved for release in sanitized form on 1 July 2010, collects twelve attachments on the Soviet port of Kherson in the Ukrainian SSR. The attachments hold sketches, photographs and observations of cranes, wharf repairs, shipyards building tankers, fuel tanks, a radar station on Nikolayev Island and a nearby airfield. They also report Kherson-built fishing boats with HIGH SIEVE type radar seen at Djibouti on their way to Vladivostok. The report has nothing to do with UFOs.

Seven-page report on Kherson, consisting of four photographs and three photographic panoramas of the port. Quality of photographs is poor to fair. 3. Two pages of information and a sketch of the port of Kherson; this report contains information on ship construction, port facilities, a radar station on Nikolayev Island, and mention of an airfield near Kherson. 4. Two pages of information on ships sighted at Kherson and the Kherson shipyard; this report contains information on the sighting of a vessel resembling the cruiser KERCH and sighting of Soviet fishing boats equipped with radar of the HIGH SIEVE type, reportedly bound for Vladivostok. A sketch of the latter vessel is provided. 5. Two-page report, with sketch, on port facilities at Kherson; existence of an airfield near Kherson is mentioned. 6. Thirteen-page report, consisting primarily of annotated photographs of the port of Kherson and Zmeinyy Island; this report states that radar stations have been built on concrete foundations in the sea near the entrance to the channel leading to the port of Nikolayev.
