This Central Intelligence Agency release, declassified in 2007 under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act, is part of the collection CIA and the Origins of the BND, 1949-56, Volume 2, in the section on ZIPPER operations and counterintelligence. It contains early 1950s memoranda on Russian, Ukrainian and other emigre groups, a plan for a stay-behind network and for evacuating ODEUM staff if war broke out, a JUPITER status report dated 16 April 1951, and evaluations of Zipper reports. It does not discuss UFOs.

German radio broadcasts, investigate rofugoes, and establish an
oltensive file on the basis of the documentary material thus
gathered are able to form a . procise picture of conditions in the
Soviet Zone without imperiling innocent people" (5). A rightist
Nuremberg paper voiced a .similar opinion when it said that thd
"unfortunate" people in the GDR who worked for the Gehlen -
organization out of idealism and patriotic passion have risked
their lives for no good cause. The paper blamed the "increasing
deterioration and corruption" of the modern intelligence agencies
for the "liquidation of hundreds of people" (6).
The attitude of the Communist-sponsorOd press was typically
reflected in the commentary of the mouthpiece of former Reich
Chancellor Wirth, which came out with a vehement attack on the
"disgusting methods" of the "American-financed" Gohlen organization.
The paper claimed that the June 17 riots, the,"notorious"
activities of the •010.1 in Hesse, and the Geyer affair are all.
indicative of the West's intention to "prepare a world . war" (7).
