This is part of Volume II of the CIA History Staff's official history of the Bay of Pigs operation, covering participation in the conduct of foreign policy, dated October 1979 and approved for release in 2011. The appendixes reproduce CIA and State Department cables on the November 1960 Guatemalan army revolt, including Guatemalan requests for arms, ammunition and air surveillance, memorandums on Special Forces trainers, and part of a 1971 oral history interview with Ambassador John J. Muccio. It contains no UFO material.

Attached is (a) Memo to Lansdale w/draft Memo for Record; (b) copy of Lansdale's memo on his talk with Douglas approving the draft Memo for Record; and (c) memo to Mann transmitting the draft Memo for Record. * Also attached is the original Memo for Record which is now to be signed by the Guatemalan Ambassador. 2. If it would be of any help to you at all, I would be de- lighted to go along with you to see the Guat Ambassador. I am not asking to do this only offering.
