This Central Intelligence Agency personality (201) dossier on Sandelio Herminio Diaz Garcia holds material dated from November 1956 to August 1975 and was approved for release in 2025. It contains 1966 intelligence cables on a 29 May 1966 exile infiltration attempt near Havana, in which Diaz was reported killed while trying to assassinate Fidel Castro. It also includes a report on cancelled assassination plans, 1973 traces linking a Herminio Diaz to narcotics trafficking, and FBI file listings. The dossier contains no UFO material.

XXXXXXXXXX ATTACHMENT B SUBJECT: Sandalio Herminio DIAz Garcia (201-203040) ## Basic Biographic Information: 1. Subject was born on 3 September 1923 in Aguacate, Havana Province. His father, Herminio DIAZ Fernandez, and mother, Angelica GARCIA la Rosa, still live in Havana at #15 Calle 8, Casino Deportivo, Sitios #520. Herminio DIAZ, as he is better known, has two brothers, Ruben and Donaldo, and one sister, Angelica, all of whom (as of October 1963) reside in Havana. Subject married Alicia MACKENZIE Sanchez on 20 January 1962, with whom he lived as man and wife for about one year before their marriage. They have a daughter, who was born in Havana on Subject holds Cuban Passport No. 190579 issued in Havana on 16 September 1962, valid for a period of five years. ## 2. Family: a. Father: Herminio*DIAZ Fernandez, DPOB circa 1900 in Jaruco, Province of Havana, a retired veterinarian now residing (as of October 1963) at #15 Calle 8, Casino Deportivo, Sitios #520, Havana. b. Mother: Angelica*GARCIA la Rosa, DPOB circa 1907 in Aguacate, Province of Havana, residing (as of October 1963) at the same address as 2.a. above. ## c. Brothers and Sisters: (1) Ruben*DIAZ Garcia, DPOB 16 October 1928(?), in Bainoa, unemployed at present (as of October 1963), and married to Petra*FLORES (matronymic unknown), about 35 years old. They have five children ranging from ages four to fourteen. About two years ago Ruben was arrested and confined for 60 days for attempting to leave Cuba by boat. Until about two years ago he was employed by Reforma Urbana. He studied veterinarian medicine at the University of Havana, but did not complete his studies. He resides with his wife and family in Calle San Miguel, between Hospital and Espada Streets in Havana, house number unknown. (2) Donaldo*DIAZ Garcia, DPOB circa 1927, Havana. Although he had not studied veterinarian medicine, Donaldo is Chief of the Veterinarian Department in the Ministry of Health, a position he has held from 1961. He is married to Dionelis (patronymic and matronymic unknown), born circa 1935. They have one child, now about five years old. He lives on Llinas Street, between Oquendo and Marques Gonzalez Havana, house number unknown. (3) Angelica*DIAZ Garcia, DPOB circa 1937, Havana. Up until May or June 1963 Angelica and her husband, Juan Hector (patronymic and matronymic unknown), born circa 1935,moved to Havana from Camaguey. She is a pediatrician and served in the Central Hospital in Camaguey before moving to Havana.
