This Central Intelligence Agency personality (201) dossier on Sandelio Herminio Diaz Garcia holds material dated from November 1956 to August 1975 and was approved for release in 2025. It contains 1966 intelligence cables on a 29 May 1966 exile infiltration attempt near Havana, in which Diaz was reported killed while trying to assassinate Fidel Castro. It also includes a report on cancelled assassination plans, 1973 traces linking a Herminio Diaz to narcotics trafficking, and FBI file listings. The dossier contains no UFO material.

Subject was contacted by JMWAVE/KUDESK on 11 September 1963 in order to debrief him and to determine the validity of certain plans concerning the assassination of AMTHUG/1 and the subsequent establishment of Identity A. The plans, according to Subject, were formulated and would be carried out by Identity B. "Following several interviews and two LCFLUTTERs" (see References H, J, and K), it was determined that the plan to assassinate AMTHUG/1 was Subject's own idea and that he was not aware of the existence of any plans that Identity B may have had or has concerning the assassination of AMTHUG/1. 2. Details concerning the development and disposition of this case are forwarded under separate cover by split-transmission as Attachments A and B. Attachment B is a final biographic summary on Subject obtained in pre-LCFLUTTER and subsequent interviews. Attachment C contains the identities to this dispatch referred to in paragraph 1 above. 3.
