This Central Intelligence Agency personality (201) dossier on Sandelio Herminio Diaz Garcia holds material dated from November 1956 to August 1975 and was approved for release in 2025. It contains 1966 intelligence cables on a 29 May 1966 exile infiltration attempt near Havana, in which Diaz was reported killed while trying to assassinate Fidel Castro. It also includes a report on cancelled assassination plans, 1973 traces linking a Herminio Diaz to narcotics trafficking, and FBI file listings. The dossier contains no UFO material.

G G G L E T ATTACHMENT 17 to UPGA-13685 Merminio DIAZ (201-203040) Subject's full name is Sandalio Herminio DIAZ Garcia. On 22 January it was reported that DIAZ left the WAVE area on 18 January 1964 enroute to PDRUMEN, see WAVE-0954, 22 January 1964. During the course of intensive briefings, DIAZ' principal interest appeared to be in obtaining support for a plan to physically eliminate AMTNUG-1. DIAZ' intentions in this respect became well known in the WAVE area. Thus, no attempt was made to recruit him for MEAPRON purposes, in order to avoid showing any ODYONE participation in his plans. On this date, 28 January 1964, AMOT-133 was informed by Raul ROS Gonzalez, a friend of DIAZ, that DIAZ returned to the WAVE area from Texas.
