This Central Intelligence Agency personality (201) dossier on Sandelio Herminio Diaz Garcia holds material dated from November 1956 to August 1975 and was approved for release in 2025. It contains 1966 intelligence cables on a 29 May 1966 exile infiltration attempt near Havana, in which Diaz was reported killed while trying to assassinate Fidel Castro. It also includes a report on cancelled assassination plans, 1973 traces linking a Herminio Diaz to narcotics trafficking, and FBI file listings. The dossier contains no UFO material.

A letter was sent from Nabana, Cuba, dated 25 October 1956, to Armando FERNANDEZ, Apartado 1625, San Jose, from an unidentified writer whose signature appears to be "Tony Bauer". 2. Armando FERMANDEZ is a pseudonym for Sandelio Herminio DIAZ García. Apartado 3625 has not previously been reported as an address of DIAZ, who standardly has utilised 3620. No. 3625 is listed in the 1956 Apartado Directory as registered under the name of Tomas Eduardo BECK (or BECH), on whom this Station has no information. 3. While the contents of the letter appear to consist of purely personal matters, it is forwarded to you for possible operational leads.
