This is an unclassified, For Official Use Only news compilation produced by the US Embassy Kabul Public Affairs Office and distributed by the Open Source Center on 15 August 2015. It was later approved for release by the Central Intelligence Agency in 2018. It gathers Afghan, Pakistani and international press reports on an anti-Pakistan protest in Washington, China's support for Afghan peace talks, the combat debut of Afghan MD-530 helicopters, hostage releases in Ghazni and unemployment in Kunduz. It contains nothing about UFOs.

Government of Pakistan. The completion of these projects, in the
years ahead, would tremendously contribute towards the social and
economic prosperity of Afghanistan. In addition to the road
infrastructure, Pakistan has been playing active role in the
reconstruction and development of Afghanistan and has built

US$110 billion losses on Pakistan's economy} The construction of
these projects reflects the sincere endeavours made by Pakistan for
the rebuilding of Afghanistan. It also shows the high degree of
importance being attached by Pakistan to its ties with Afghanistan.
In view of the emerging favourable econdmic predicament, both
neighbouring countries are required to further strengthen their
ties .

with Pakistan making consistent overtures for peaceful '
negotiations. '

to their troubled relationship with the Taliban._

Following the Afghan President's anti—Pakistan outburst last week,
protestors have held angry demonstrations outside the Pakistan
embassy in Kabul. The diplomats believe that Afghan MPs and members
