Overview of IRR Activities Last Week: (U//A-I-HO) Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS) (U//MUG) OIM Hosts FRUS Conference with State Department Counterparts (U/Hrl-U-Q)-On 22 March, OIM hosted a day-long conference at the Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS) series where CIA historians, IROs, and OIM release managers discussed policy and procedural issues associated with the FRUS with their Department of State counterparts. The participants discussed coordination of the new Joint Historian position, the resource and security implications of State's move to electronic publication of the FRUS series, and State's development of Access Guides to point researchers to records on a particular subject. 0 The FR US is the legally mandated official documentary historical record of major foreign policy decisions and significant diplomatic activity. Its purpose is to document the facts and events that contribute to I policy formation, and to record evidence of supporting and alternative views of the final policy decisions.
