This is the Central Intelligence Agency's Central Intelligence Bulletin for 1 February 1960, a daily brief released in 2020. It covers a planned pre-Summit meeting of Soviet bloc leaders in Moscow and Soviet aid for Egypt's Aswan Dam. It also covers the Sino-Burmese border agreement, the Shah's order to watch the Iranian army, the Algiers settler insurrection and Venezuela's protest against the Dominican Republic. A late item reports a Soviet vehicle launched from Tyura Tam to the Pacific impact area. It contains no UFO reports.

General Abdollah Hedayat, chief of the Supreme Staff, to keep a "close watch on the army, especially in Tehran." Hedayat was directed to rely on the National Information and Security Organization (SAVAK) and the police to carry out the surveillance. Lists ofofficers. and noncoms suspected of conspiratorial activity are being pre- pare_dJ SAVAK and the Interior Ministry have alerted the security forces in the provinces against "certain secret agents" who are creating unrest. SAVAK has ordered agents stationed in sensi- tive centers and among groups to obtain information and keep a close watch for persons spreading propaganda.
