Sepcial As siatant to the Assistant Commissioner Compliance, IRS, a
who is a cleared contact of this Agency. Mr. Green was not told '
subject's previous names. The facts satisfied him and the IRS case
will be closed. The Falls Church Office has no interest in the file
since it was removed from that Office in a routine manner. It
will be returned by Mr. Green to the District Director, Richmond,
another cleared contact who will be requested to close the case
without iurther action.
.
4. The Finance Division and SR! CIS have been cautioned of
the danger of substantial cash transactions of this nature which often
come to the attention of IRS. Unfortunately in May 1965, another
huge cash payment was made to subject, and he deposited cash to
the following accounts: (ai $4, 000, First and Citizens, Alexandria, I
H‘
Virginia, checking account; (b) $2, 000, Interstate Building Association, U‘) '
Washington, D. C., savings: (c) $2,800, Old Dominion Bank, Arlington,
Virginia, checking and savings accounts. Mr. Green was advised of H
these transactions but indicated nothing can or should be done about
them at the present time. If they come to" the attention of IRS, we i
..,t‘-_--*
assume the taxpayer will get in touch with us, and we will handle the ~\
case in the same manner through our cleared contacts.
