This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

—SEGRE~T— 3 October 1975 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD SUBJECT: Liaison With the U.S. Internal Revenue Service l. Reference is made to the attached 8 September 1975 request from Mr. James Quinn, Chief, Investigations Branch, Internal Security Division, Internal Revenue Service, which requests certain information relating to the Agency's review of federal tax records relating to three individuals. 2. After discussions with the Director of Security and the Office of General Counsel, it has been determined that the response to this request will be handled entirely by Mr. Gary Breneman of the Office of General Counsel, in view of the sensitivity of two of the cases mentioned in referenced request. 3. This is to advise that as of this date, no further action by the Office of Security is necessary in relation to the attached request from the Internal Revenue Service.
